The Longest Line on the Map: A Theoretical Bike Journey

I completed this project as part of my final for “Imaging Polar Geographies.” Huge shoutout to my amazing Professor Jeff Kerby for letting me do this project! I used remote sensing techniques to map this route and provide an analysis of the seven major 'pinch points–regions identified as difficult crossings or areas of heightened risk–along the route. In the Darfur region of Sudan, I mapped destruction and used optical and SAR imagery to map mass graves. However, this section is too graphic to present. The storymap below focuses on the pinch points that are polar-related, since that was the theme of my class.
